We at Hydrocarbon Technologies believe that hydrocarbons have a place in our world for decades to come. This conviction is not only limited to aviation fuel and petrochemicals, etc. but extends also to road transportation fuel―the installed vehicle base and associated infrastructure can't be substituted overnight. That means humankind needs to make use of what we have (hydrocarbons) in the best way reasonably achievable.

There is a long history of incremental improvements in the oil & gas industry but no quantum leaps since long (e.g., all cracking technologies used these days are inventions of the 20th century's first decades). It is about time to change the paradigms: let bacteria and fungi do things for us their way, where possible and viable.

Hydrocarbon Technologies is our interface with the world. It serves two purposes: for us to inform you about what we are doing and thinking and for you to be able to contact us and just stay in touch. Your subscription is of course free; it simply enables us to reach out to you and form a dedicated community, nothing more. This is a very technical and no-nonsense site run by engineers. New posts will be published when deemed newsworthy only, i.e., not regularly.
